1.00 - Introduction
Welcome to my Radical Blood strategy guide. The guide will mainly be about one on one situations, but can be implemented on Team Games. The guide will tell you what to do and how to do it. Hopefully you will improve by reading it, enjoy!

2.00 - Preparations
It's important to have the correct map: Radical Blood - 2v2 - Final - Download
Always make sure the host is using this map, unless it's a 6p or 8p game. Even though this version is a 4p version it's the official 1v1 version.
Take a careful look at the map name, sometimes cheaters try to use small name changes to fool you e.g. Fínal. This would be a totally different map, and most likely cheated. To be totally sure about the map, host the game.
I would suggest having the maximum screen size in the game that you can have. I also suggest not having the AoK music on as it will make the play sounds less noticeable.

3.00 - The first 30 Game Seconds
You start at your camp.
Your screen starts moving towards your spawn.
Swiftly put Elite Throwing Axeman on the spawn (flag) and then delete your Elite Longbowman.
Your screen will most likely end up in the water, click back to Kings Island.
Move your king next to the Torches (not inside!) and Label him as 9. To label units, hold Ctrl + a number. So for this hold Ctrl + 9.
Press [F11] and [F4] (F11 = Game Time, F4 = Hi-scores).
Click on your base at the minimap and start spawning men outside gate. What this means (spawning men outside gate) is that you move the axemen you get outside your gate as you get them. A bit like if they walked from the spawn to the outside of the gate on their own. Do not wait on them to stack up in your base. Also, as you are moving them outside the gate press [N]. This will make them go on Stand ground. Stand ground stops your men from running off after the enemy units.

3.01 - Axe Battles
I'm now not going to explain each step as firmly as before.
Axe battles are always present in Radical Blood, unless he uses Longbows. The reason we deleted longbows is because they are not as good as axemen (40 vs 40) and they are not good at razing (which is an important part of the game). Longbows can be good to save, as they have long range; but I would only suggest keeping Longbow if you're quite good and know why you will need them against this player (he might be a camper and so on).

Axe Battles are about three things: The battle, the reinforcements and the bombard towers. There are a lot of different strategies for Axe Battles. The best stance to use would be Flank [F] but Flank can also be bad as they can't raze or protect as easy. Another thing with flank is that you have to Patrol [Z] towards his Bombard Towers. So if he moves back you have to quickly move back yourself or you will be in his line of fire from BBT's (Bombard Towers).
Then there is Staggered [E]; this is a good stance for defense (protecting your own Bombard Towers) but once again you have to patrol your men towards him and the Staggered can be destructive in your defense as your men are very spread out and have a long way back to either tower.
The stance I prefer is Line [Q]. For the simple reason that I can put my men out of range from the BBT's and patrol to my right. So if he patrols towards me I will automatically attack him, but if he runs back my men will not follow. To use Line, though, you should be fast with the mouse because if he goes for your towers you have to run back before he comes sideways with you.
Try not to fight so far out that his bombard towers can shoot you. Even if they don't kill that many, you will still lose some men from it, making you have less units than your opponent (which makes you lose the battle).
We've talked about Bombard Towers and the Attack part, which leaves Reinforcements. Reinforcing is quite easy to learn, but if you don't use it you lose. It's simple: Reinforce all the time. Only one unit? Use it! When you reinforce axemen you want to click two buttons; Stand ground [N] and Patrol [Z]. Learn to take Z + N with your fingers, because you will use it all the time during Axe Battles. Another thing is very important; always view your men who are fighting. Keep your screen so that you see both the new men and the attacking soldiers (Attacking and Defending always comes before reinforcing).

TIP - Keep your axemen labeled as number one. This makes it easier to move them. Though remember that the reinforced units will not be labeled.

3.02 - Axe Defense
This is Axe vs Axe.
All defense is done in Staggered Formation [E]. This is because staggered is the best way to block enemy troops. As he goes for your towers you will have to run back with your axemen. While running back, keep them in Line Formation [Q]. This makes it easier to order them around. When you are running straight back towards your gate, click Staggered [E]. How you now place your units depends on your opponent, most likely he will go for a side. What you need to do then is block off one of the sides. One strategy is to stand like this and when he comes a bit closer for your tower, you close the space to raze and get him either trapped or running home. Now remember when he attacks he will most likely change direction if you are blocking one side, so be prepared to rearrange your block.
If he gets past you or next to you, making it impossible for you to block him, I'd suggest patrolling towards him (and your towers) to kill as many units as possible before he reaches them. This means he has few units left to attack with and you should be able to take all down before you lose the tower.

3.03 - Axe Offence
If he goes for a raze and gets past you, you can go for a raze yourself. What is bad about this is that, because he attacked first, he will lose a few units from your BBT's and therefore have a few units to attack you with. What this in the end means is that he will get either more razes, more damage (on razes e.g. gate) or more kills (if he pulls them back after second tower).
If you manage to raze his two BBT's, I'd suggest not going for the gate unless you are sure you can raze it. This will feed him further.

There are a lot of different ways to try and get a raze, I will take up as many as I can.
There are 3 basic ways of trying to raze. You put your axes in Line Formation [Q] and go for one of the towers. You either go from one of the sides or in the middle. If he blocks you, you simply change direction and go for the other tower. If you are totally blocked, I'd suggest retreating or you are in danger being razed yourself. If he tries to go for you when you try to raze, then don't walk back! Go and raze his both towers then walk back (unless you are sure you can get down the gate with that group). As you get to the first tower and click to attack it, start reinforcing new units outside gate. If both you and the enemy are trying to raze, patrol new units to kill his. Also, when you get khans, patrol them but make sure you don't lose them. Always go for the second tower before you reinforce with khans.

Flank [F] Raze is quite hard but is very hard to defend yourself against. The thing to do with this is to utilize your 2 axe groups. You send each group for their own tower, making it real hard for your enemy to defend. It feeds the enemy more, but if you're good you can earn a lot on it. Another strategy with Flank is to go towards his gate with the formation on, and if you get past him you try to group them together on one tower - once again, hard.

Fooling your opponent can be a good way to raze. What you do is that you make two groups, one small of about 5-7 axemen. You place the small group at one side (out of sight) and the other larger group on the other side (out of sight). Then you send the small group first and the larger group after. What this does is fool your opponent to send his men towards the small group of men (even though it's a small group he will be fooled for a sec that the big group is right after it and he'll go for it). While he’s distracted, you can reach one of the BBT's with your large group, and hopefully razing it (remember to reinforce when you raze).

Campers, we all hate campers (please don't use my strategies in order to camp). A camper puts his axemen right outside his gate. Most good players don't camp with axemen as you get no respect for doing it. So unless you know him you could assume he's not that good. Now there are three good ways to raze him. The first one is to rush him straight on. I suggest waiting a bit before doing this to make his reflexes slow. He won’t see it coming and will hopefully react too late. The other one is to go from the side. One strategy is to walk to the side without the flags (suggested). Make sure he can't see you at all (and that means that he has no knowledge that you are there). Now charge from the side and try to get his BBT. If he blocks you, just retreat. The danger with this is that if he knows you are at the side he could split his troops and raze you and at the same time stop you from razing him. The last way to raze a camper is to fool him (read, Fooling your opponent).

TIP - If you razed him twice and therefore he got more kills then you, I would suggest using one sab to sab his axes at his gate. This will make you lead and get belisarius first.
TIP - It takes about 60-80 axe hits to kill one Khan, can be very useful if he gets too close.
TIP - Remember that both bombard towers are not as equally close to the sides of the walls, so you'll have to stand closer to one of the towers for all men to hit it (if you are attacking from the side).

3.04 - Belisarius & Camel
The further we go into this game, the more options there are. I can't explain every single one, so I'll have to keep assuming you are close, after, equal or ahead of your opponent.
If you have axemen fighting in a battle, try to move them back and change to Belisarius. Make sure he's not trying to raze you. If you have khans at this stage you have to move them back enough so you're sure he won’t try to get your khans with his. Spawn Belisarius (unless he only has Belisarius). Reinforce them in front of your axes. Make sure he is attacking your belis and not your axemen. The belis don't give you that many kills but they are a bit hard to kill for the axes making your axes slaughter his (giving you more kills). Always use your khans, but try to keep them out of his khans and preferably behind your axemen. You can advance as long as you got your belis in front of your axes and khans. If he moves his axes behind gate to try and camp you out, simply attack the gate/axes with your belis and raze his last tower with your axes. If he has no last tower, then simply use your axes for kills and raze with belis. Belis are not that great at razing but they are only there so your axes don't get killed.
If you lose your axemen, I would suggest making new ones. 20 Axes + 20 Belisarius beat 40 Belisarius. Another reason why we want to keep making axemen is cause of camels. Camels are very good against cavalry, such as belis, but camels have low HP and die fast against axes.

TIP - Camels are good against Khans and can be used to block them in and kill them all.
TIP - If you block his gate with belisarius, he can't run back with his khans. If you have a few men after his khans together with your khans you can kill them without losing more then half your khans.
TIP - Do not use camels to raze as they are no good at it. If you are trying to rush his main, use belisarius.

3.05 - Elite Teutonic Knight
I suggest making Teutonic unless you're trying to spawn him or he's using Mangudai/Longbow. A lot of people underestimate Elite Teutonic Knight, it's actually one of the best units (close combat). Teutonic is better then Belisarius while camels and axemen do one damage to teuts (teuts have higher armor). Their weakness is archers e.g. Khans, Longbows and Mangudai. Their weakness is also their speed, they are very slow and are not a good unit to try and spawn someone with (as the reinforcements will be very slow). If you don't have teutonic yet but your enemy does, I'd suggest beli + your khans. I would not suggest making teutonics if your enemy is only using axes. He could easily raze your both towers.

TIP - If you walk under the enemy gate with close combat men (e.g. teut) and click to attack the gate; all men under the gate will attack it at the same time. This makes you destroy it 5-10x faster then trying to raze it from the side (also works on TC's).
TIP - I'd suggest deleting your axeman (on spawn island) if you've razed.

3.06 - Elite Mangudai
I don't really suggest making mangudai unless you lost khans. Mangudai can be good but the khans are usually enough. Mangudai are bad at shooting sabs (don't hesitate to use them together with khans though). Mangudai and Khans should always be protected by close combat men e.g. belisarius. It's good to have some additional mangudai against teutons, but remember: for each mangudai you have, you also have one less teut. Belisarius is the best unit against mangudai. Even though camels can be quite good too, they have low HP and die fast. Some people also prefer using nothing but mangudai. They do a hit-and-run strategy where you never let your enemy units come close enough to attack your mangudai. You simply run back into base and shoot them. I use a combination of belisarius, mangudai and (if possible) khans against this strategy. While he's running from my belisarius I'll be hitting him with my mangudai, and if he decides to not run my belis will protect my mangs. Hit-and-run people can be very frustrating and I wouldn't use the strategy myself, as quite a lot of people can be very upset (trashing you afterwards). If you don't have mangudai yet, I'd suggest using belisarius.

TIP - Do not try to raze with mangudai, they are very bad razers

3.07 - Elite Janissary
I generally don't use janissary unless I'm down or if I'm playing a camper (because of their 8 in range). Janissaries are good against teuts but suck against belis, therefore there is a strategy where you use camels + jans. The jans kill any teuts and the camels kill belis. What you use against this is belis + mang. Even though your belis are weak against camels, the camels die quite fast from arrows. Also try to get some belis to his janissaries, making him retreat, which often will destroy his stance, making him run into you. This attack strategy is also possible on khans; but instead of killing khans, you simply make him run back. This stops him from shooting any of your men. Don't use a too large group, though, as you most likely will lose this group without getting that many kills.
Janissaries are not suggested to be used against sabs, but if you have nothing else available you should use them anyway. What you need to understand about janissaries if you're going to try and shoot a sab is that janissaries will miss unless that sab is coming towards you. Janissaries have longer range then khans and can be used to kill khans with. I would not suggest using jans vs robins (as jans are weak vs archers).

3.08 - Robin Hood & Joan of Arc
What you delete now at the spawn (the units you wont be using) depends on the game. If someone has mamelukes, then it might be good to keep teutonic. If you have lost your khans, it could be good to keep mang, because mang is better at blocking then robin. I'm assuming you don't have mamelukes, elephants or scorpions. Now, if you have enough kans to block with, then make joans.. Use your khans as archers and joans as protection (refer to beli strategy earlier). If you lost khans you should make some robins, 20-20 is good (20 robin + 20 joan). This mix beats a full army of only joans.
If you don't have joan yet but your opponent does, I'd suggest using camel or teutonic. The bad thing with teut is if he uses archers (robin/khan), they will die fast, and then camel is better. Remember that robins are not that good at shooting sabs.

3.09 - Subotai
Make subotai, delete all other units (except scorp and possibly elephant). Subotai is good at shooting sabs, not as good as khans but close. If he got sub it's all about blocking, attacking and getting khan first. There are two strategies for sub, either try and get khan first or try to get his tower first.
If you're going to go for khan first, the best way is to try and get him to want to rush you while you block your base. It's important you do a good block or he'll get through and you might have to king. Keep sending reinforcements to the block and make sure there are no gaps. Watch out for sabs! From time to time send out two subs to stand behind his army looking for sabs. Sabs are the biggest problem when blocking, it's important he doesn't sab you. If you're going to king, do it before he's at the little gap at the end cause if he reaches that they won’t die from the king.
If you are going to rush him, always block your own camp first (unless you're sure you can retreat). If he's not currently blocking himself but you know that if you come closer he will try to block, then I'd rush him. There's a chance he’ll miss the block and leave a space open, letting you in. Try to reach the back, so you can stand outside of the king’s range. If his tower is almost down and he's blocking at his palisades, then you could go as close to him as possible and click to attack the main. There is a chance you have enough range to shoot it. Also if he's not blocking the palisade walls, then shoot one down and try to enter through that. Make sure you don't feed him to khan.

3.10 - Genghis Khan
This is the last unit, this means trying to get more kills wont give you any better unit. Delete everything but khan. If he has sub, the best strategy is to spawn him. Block him in and shoot until he loses all subotai, remember to reinforce. After that send in half the army to get the main, and if he kings send in the rest. If both of you have khan, it gets tough. This is about blocking and attacking. Remember this: You can't win by only defending yourself. Try to get past him, but always make sure you are blocking your own base. Taking down his walls next to the gate can be a good idea as it makes it harder for him to block his base. Another strategy is attacking from the side. You only shoot one part of the block, making it hard for him to block and you got a shot of getting in. If you get in rush for the safe spot and shoot the tower. Even if he has kinged, I'd suggest going for safe spot as he has to move his full army of khans way back in camp after you, making it easier to send new khans inside camp. Now of course if the tower is almost down you don't have to go for the safe spot.
Remember to watch out for sabs (and try to sab him).
If you don't have khan but he does then you have two options. Try to get khan fast or try to rush him. If you're going to rush, a good strategy is to stand with subs at the side (remember to block base) and if he brings out the full army of khans to try and kill you, you run for his camp. The other strategy, trying to get khans, I don’t suggest it. I don’t suggest it because if he's not a noob he'll just spawn you. The only way to keep up with khans is by sabbing him.

3.11 - Shooting Saboteurs
It's best if you have khans when you're trying to shoot sabs. Two shoots from a khan should kill one sab, though remember that 20% of the time, they can miss! First of all try to remember how long it was from your razing until he razed or how long after you razed him. Though if he razed a lot later in the game, then take the time from your latest reinforcements. This is important because you'll know when he gets his khans and sab. You get reinforcements every 400 seconds from the time you razed your first razing (and so does he). 400 seconds is 6 minutes and 40 seconds, making it hard to count with the game time when you're going to get reinforces. When you get your reinforcements you also get text and a sound, which is quite easy to detect. Now it's important that you count how many sabs he has, remember that you get 2 sabs for second raze and another 2 sabs for third raze. If you know how many sabs he has, you know when he has none left, which is when you can relax and don't have to scout.
Now to the actual shooting, first of all always make sure you have searched the surrounding for sabs. Also I'd suggest placing a unit to your right (outside your gate over the flags) to stop him from sabbing you from the side. If you notice he's rushing with belis, then you know he's going to try and sab you. Keep the mouse pointer at the very end of your line of sight. Click the sab before it goes into the belis or you might not be able to click it. After shooting the sab, run back with your khans. If he's using two sabs, the best idea might be to run back behind the gate and try to shoot them from there. You can shoot two sabs, but to do so you need to learn how long it takes for each khan to shoot off their arrows, which is 2 seconds, 1.6 seconds with mongols. If you learn this, you can click the first sab and then when they shoot arrows, you click the second sab. This will make you shoot both sabs very fast, but if you click too fast on the second sab you'll not shoot the first sab! If he's sabbing you from the side and you're too late out to shoot it, try to patrol. If you're lucky he had nothing protecting it and you shot it. You can also run with khans as they’re faster then the sab, while running you should flank your khans, so if he hits you you'll only lose half of them.

TIP - Use your close combat men to block off the sab to give you more time to shoot it, this is good if he's using 2 or more sabs.
TIP - If you know he's going to try and sab you with 3 or more sabs, I'd suggest using a sab to blow them all up with. When he rushes, send back khan and send up sab. When the sab gets in the middle of them, delete it. Make sure it doesn't lagg though or you'll miss the delete. If it lags try to attack one of the sabs instead.
TIP - Put your khans on the number 2 (Ctrl + 2). This makes it easier to shoot sabs quickly.
TIP - If his towers are shooting at you, you'll be able to see the ground next to them. Use this to see sabs, before he even sends them.

3.12 - Sabbing
If you get one raze you get one sab every 400 seconds.
If you get two razes you get two sabs.
If you get three razes you get two sabs.

There are a lot of different ways to sab, and there are also some rules about sabbing. When you sab always keep them on No Attack [O] or they will run off or blow up before you want them to. Also, always have some kind of protection in front of them or they'll be easy to shoot down. A common way to sab is by running your belis towards his khans while having a sab in the middle of those belis trying to hide. This makes it harder for him to shoot it. This gives him a lot of time to think as you have to move through your armies. Another way is to sab from the side when he's not expecting it. It will be quite easy for him to shoot your sab but he'll have less time to react. Some people use one sab at a time and some prefer gathering sabs and using two or more at the same time. It really depends on who you're playing, the better he is the harder it is to sab him. If you're going to sab his camp the best way is to first use one sab (remember to have full force of belis in his camp first). This sab will be shot by his khans but it'll kill all his men in the base that are being spawned. You then send two more sabs, and because you have a lot of belis there you get a lot of protection for them (making them harder to shoot). Usually you get at least one through and get his khans. Some people react by moving their khans back to the main tower. Now you have to make a decision, either you go for the two towers next to spawn or you go for main tower + khans. If you decide to go for the towers, then place your sab in the middle of them and delete it, or leave it to be destroyed. If you're going for his khans + main then send belis in there with the sabs (the risk is that you hit nothing).

TIP - When sabbing his base, remember to spread [E] your soldiers so they hide your sabs inside.
TIP - Do not raze the second raze and the third raze at the same time cause you'll only get two sabs instead of four.
TIP - Always put your sabs on No Attack [O], even if they are just standing in the base. It will prevent them from blowing up before losing all HP or before finding their target.
TIP - Put the sab/sabs on the number 3 (Ctrl + 3) this makes it easier to move the sab/sabs around.
TIP - If the target that you assigned your sabs dies, the sabs will stop. Therefore try to either click a target you know won’t die, or click to move it instead of targeting it until you're close (or delete it).

3.13 - Harold Haardraade
If you get four razings you receive two Harold Haardraade. They are monks but can't heal soldiers. They can convert solders. What you want to try and do is to convert the enemy khans (and sabs if you can). When you've converted the khan try to run out of his base to save it.
Something some players like to do is to destroy all towers in the camp and then run into the camp and convert the main tower. Funny, but has no effect on the game.

TIP - If you have subotai or khan, I'd suggest deleting the monks as you'll get two more units.

3.14 - Elite Mameluke
If you get six razings, you receive a mamelukes that you can spawn.
Mamelukes are fast, quite good at razing and very good against Belisarius and Mangudai. I would suggest using Mamelukes, unless they are using teutonic knight or unless you have subotai or khan. If you got robin and joan, what you use depends on the situation, as they are good for different purposes. Mamelukes are very good vs subotai and are a better unit to use against them then robin and joan. Mamelukes are also quite good vs khans, but you will still be spawned. Mamelukes’ weakness is axes and teutonics. The best thing to do when you have mamelukes is to try and get more razes (unless you're playing a 1v1 game). Remember that Mamelukes have short range.

3.15 - Elite War Elephant
If you get eight razings, you receive an elephant which you can spawn.
Elephants are strong but slow. I would suggest making elephants, but I'd also suggest not making elephants alone, as they are very slow and wouldn't take a rush very well. Elephants will kill almost anything, and the best way to protect yourself against them is by sabs. Simply use a sab on the elephant in the middle and you'll get them all. As elephants are very slow, it will take a while before a new group comes, and hopefully you can sab this group too. Mamelukes are good against elephants, but try to make sure the elephants don't come too close. If you have elephant, I'd suggest using a mixture of elephants and mamelukes. It's better to use too many elephants then too many mamelukes as you can reinforce mamelukes faster then elephants. If your opponent attacks your elephants with mamelukes you'll kill all of them easily with your mamelukes protected behind your elephants (giving him very few kills).

3.16 - Heavy Scorpion
If you get ten razings, you receive a scorpion which you can spawn. Having scorpions is a big advantage, they kill most things fast. The only units that can be compared to the level of scorpions are subotai and khan. The best way to kill scorpions is to spread your units and run right into them, then stand in a circle around them and attack them. If you stand in front of them, they will all shoot at you and kill you in seconds. Scorpions are very hard to sab, and if you use them, you have a big advantage. They are excellent at spawning opponents. I'd only delete it if I had khan.

3.17 - Villager
If you get eleven razings, you receive one villager in your camp. Use this to block your base (so he can't rush you as easy). I'd suggest building a castle. If you can't make castles, make a university. Remember that whatever you build is a potential razing for the enemy, therefore do not make houses or any other low HP buildings. If you build a castle you are not allowed to make trebuchets and trebuchet opponents. This is considered cheap and sometimes as cheating.

TIP - If you are attacked, hide your villager in the main. If you lose this building it won’t matter if you have a villager or not.
TIP - Use your villager to repair the main after a rush.
